Powerboat Level 1

RYA Level 1 is a one day practical introduction to boat handling and safety in powerboats.

The course covers: -

• launching and recovery,
• safety equipment,
• pre-start checks,
• personal buoyancy,
• boat handling,
• starting and stopping,
• use of kill-cord,
• steering controls,
• securing to a buoy,
• leaving and coming alongside,
• being towed,
• man overboard.

Also covers theory on IRPCS, rope-work and awareness of other watercraft users.

RYA Level 1
1 day course - £80.00 per person.
Own boat price on request.

RYA Level 2 / International Certificate of Competence
2 day course - £160.00 per person.
Own boat price on request.

Maximum three students per course.

CEVNI Test - £20.00

Powerboat Level 2 / International Certificate of Competence

CEVNI - Code European des voies de la Navigation Interieure.

RYA Level 2 is an excellent two day introduction to power boating.

The course assumes no knowledge and addresses the basics of slow and high speed boat handling including

• leaving and coming alongside,
• anchoring,
• picking up a mooring buoy,
• high speed turns,
• dealing with emergencies like man-overboard
• the safety kit that you should carry onboard.

Additionally, you will learn about tides, reading and using charts and electronic navigation.
